Dashcam & Sentry Mode Hidden TAPTES Hub

Today my order from TAPTES arrived from China. With nothing currently to do with my weekend I set to installing it in my Model 3.

I started off by finding out my current SSD enclosure did not fit in the form factor for the new compartment (I didn’t expect it to fit). The maximum width stated on the website is 78mm and the caddy was just larger than that.

What I Used For My Installation

I first removed the cover and the SSD from the enclosure to reveal a clipped on cover for the circuitry which I also removed.

After removing the cover there were 2 screws holding in the circuit board in place which I removed.

I then carefully mounted the SSD to the board noting the direction on the keyed components of the SSD & Added the magnetic plate to the back..

The whole assembly was then placed into the TAPTES case and plugged in.

The cover was then replaced on the TAPTES Hub and then It was time for the installation.

The Final Installation

As you can see the before and after finish is quite different in cable management and looks like it was installed from the factory.
